Hey, I just installed yahoo IM into my BB 8320 but when I try to login it give me error message “service not enabled for this handheld”….what does it mean? Anything I should turn on?

Check your service books. You should have a Yahoo Messenger service book. If not, do a register now (Options>Advanced>Host Routing Tables>Menu - Register Now).

I am assuming you have a BlackBerry data plan.

No I do not have the BB plan as I using as a normal phone but I have data plan (GPRS/EDGE), is it the must to have BB plan before I can use Yahoo IM, accessing internet and so on? Canxxx8217;t I just access those service through my normal data plan?

How about Java talk and the rest app?

Jive talk is great, you do need a data plan, and Yahoo needs service books to work, don't know if you can get it to work on AT&T, Jive talk is by far the best one out there.
