Default Error message when connecting to computer

Please Login to Remove!

I'm attempting to sync my phone and when I click on the application icon on the desktop manager I get the following error:

The BB desktop software does not have the BB device software for the device you have connected to the computer.

I am using this with my Windows XP laptop. Any suggestions?

it's because you havent installed your handheld's OS package onto your computer yet.

use the link above to locate your device, download the device software, install it to your computer, and the next time you connect and choose the application loader in desktop manager, the "error" will be resolved.

Thanks. this doesn't seem to be solving the problem. I downloaded the software on the CD my phone came with, went to the link you provided and it's still not doing it. Hmmmm..

On a side note, does the software work with VISTA?

yes, it works on Vista.

uninstall everything. go to the link i gave you and download both the Desktop Software Version 4.3 and the Handheld OS software.

install the desktop software, reboot your computer if it says to, then install the Handheld OS software.

just start fresh. and lose the CD.

In your first post you said you wanted to sync your blackberry. To do this you select the synchronize option not the application loader.

Well, didn't work with the Visat desktop. Don't know what the issue is. Did the same thing I did for the laptop. Perhaps I'll try again.
