Which connection software did you download? I recently downloaded Sprint SmartView and it works like a charm.

Wait, I see you have an 8330. Are you using a BES data plan or the BIS plan? Tethering is not included in the BIS plan - its an extra $15.

Ok I just downloaded the Sprint SmartView and it works great, Sprint Blackberry support does not know what they are doing.
Thank you for your help

Are you telling me that with simply everything and $20 for BES I can tether at no additional charge?

That one I'm not sure about. We don't use the simply everything plan on any of our devices at work. I know the standalone BES plan includes it. I would bet the $20 add on doesn't, but someone else may know for sure.

Thanks. You already know more than the average person at Sprint!

Tethering is not an option for Simply Everything plans - only the BES buy up is.

I have had a couple of people at Sprint tell me that as of June 15 it can be added for $15. My fear is that most Sprint employees tell a different story. I am afraid of the inconsistency but otherwise would like to try it. My understanding is that the network is fine, but the employees generally are the problem.

I have also had a couple people tell me that BES includes tethering.

So here I sit using Verizon, which has generally been fine. But I would love to save money and would occassionally enjoy the GPS as well.

OK I have the $99 Everything plan from Sprint and I called them today and some lady said that they can now add the tethering for $15 extra so I did.
Warning do not ask for tech support because they dont know what they are doing and they told me that the lady made a mistake by adding that feature.
So just get the tethering feature added to your account and go to Sprint PCS Software: Sprint PCS Connection Manager Software from Sprint and choice your operating system and download the Sprint Smart View and thats all you need to use the phone as a modem.

Also I did a speed test and I'm getting 1025kb/s downloand and 120kb/s upload and love it.

Good luck
