i just recently bought a used blackberry 8300 on the at&t network, and i want to get it unlocked, when i went to check if it already is and typed in mepd in the sim card menu it all says disabled, and everything checks out and it looks like an unlocked phone, and when i put in my fido sim card it connects to the fido network but i can't make calls and it says only emergency calls can be dialed, and if i go to text message it says network not set up, anybody have any ideas, thanks for the help

Sounds like maybe a security policy on it.

Go to options>security options>general settings
Scroll to bottom does it say anything

under services it says no services, and in IT policy it says default and last updated jun 4 2008

yes you have an IT policy in place.

I would recommend going back and deleting the pth you put in to replace policy

otherwise when you go to load ew OS it will place the policy back onto the device
