Default WiFi & GPS Features

Would any one out there please comment on why there is not the ability to have GPS and WiFi on the same model?

I have heard it is because of room on the circuit card however I find it hard to believe that with the pursuit of companies bottom lines today that the manufacturing process for the Curve series would have 4 different circuit cards for the same model. One would think it would be cheaper to manufacture only one circuit card and disable the features via software similar to the way features are enabled by the BIOS version on a PC.

On that thought, has anyone opened the Curve and verified this is true or not.

The Bold 9000 has both

The limitation on many handsets is the space to fit another antenna - cell plus Bluetooth plus WiFi/GPS

Also the fact that if you run WiFi and GPS at the same time your battery would drain VERY quickly.

So your theory is that the 8300 was developed with all these features and that they disabled GPS and WiFi? I know people have disassembled Curves and posted here before...
