Default Wondering what you guys do about this...

So I'm sure everyone has figured out that you can't use internet (BIS etc.) while on a phone call using the EDGE network. The only way this WILL work is if you are in WiFi (at least it does for me).

This causes a few issues for me, and I was wondering if anyone else has these problems.
1. I won't get e-mails, so it actually is better to Text if it's urgent
2. I won't get BB Messages, and this can be extremely fusterating, especially if you are on a long phone call, which again makes the awesome BB Messenger worse than plain texts...

Wondering what you guys think about this, never bugged me enough to be a big issue, but still quite annoying.

9000 and all WiFi models are able to do this. Voice is the priority on the device, if this were not the case then every time you got an email you would be kicked off the voice call. ALL data is secondary to Voice. The reason SMS/Text work is because they travel over the voice network, NOT the data network.

If I BB Message someone and get the off-line response then I just send a text if it's urgent.

That's the way to go, although sometimes you don't know if they are just out of service (also shows that phone call icon) and then people sometimes will wait b/c a text won't go through either.

I knew WHY this happened, I was just wondering what peoples' just random opinions were. I think BB Messenger is reconcilable if you just send a text when it doesn't go through, but I also think it's pretty damn annoying especially when they don't realize and ask you why you didn't respond.

But yeah, it's been making me think of using SMS (which I have unlimited) over BB Messenger only b/c you know the texts will almost always go through.
The one thing keeping me from doing this....I have crap reception at home and sometimes I'm on Wi-Fi and have no EDGE service so BB Messages work and SMS doesn't!

Quite a dillema...

Gotta' get down with high speed packet data, so you can do both.

Not really an issue for me. If I'm on the phone then others can wait (and vice versa).
