I'm trying to sync outlook w/ my BB. I originally had a filter set to exclude private data, which I ended up deleting (to try to fix this problem). When I do the sync the process wants to remove from my BB 11 items marked in outlook as private (this despite no filter being set). Any suggestions?

adjust your sync settings to suit your needs before attempting to sync.

In the Blackberry Desktop Manager software, go to synchronize.
In the popup window, select Configuration tab.
Select Configure (if your device is not connected to the desktop via the mini usb, I don't think this option will be selectable and will be greyed out)
Click on Advanced...
Select the tab of the area of question (calendar, memopad, etc.) that you want to change.
Click on Conflict Resolution...
Choose Device wins (or whatever setting you prefer).


Go back and do this for all the tabs you need to.

I also turn off automatic synchronization (under the synchronize tab) to help control this process better.
Sometimes, you may want to change the settings and then sync up.

Still no go. I've tried modifying the different settings, and still when I sync, the program wants to delete 11 items from my BB that are set to private despite no filter being set. Any other suggestions?

Update: Even stranger

I did a sync and let the 11 items be deleted from my BB (that still makes no sense to me). I then added them back to my Outlook calendar, and did a resync. It ignored the newly added items, but now wanted to delete some other entries from my phone that weren't marked personal, private, etc.

Resolved the hard way. I uninstalled BB Desktop Mngr, and then reinstalled and all is ok. Interestingly, AT&T, yesterday made 4.5 vers of BB Desktop. . . .
