Default text messages from verizion

Please Login to Remove!

I have BB 8320 (tmobile) and when i receive text messages from verizon users it cuts the text off after a few lines...and no 2nd text comes in after taht with the rest of the text..Is there a problem with my phone? or a way to fix this? thankss..every1

no verizon doesn't allow text over 160 characters there is three current threads on this now.

Well dawg, toppapi isn't quite talking about the same thing.

If you're getting messages from a regular device (not a data or pda based) then they're able to text more than 160 words if they select urgent I believe. When txt are really long, over 160 characters then the phone should receive more and actually put them into one giant txt.

No matter what someone sends you via txt, you should never lose words while receiving. Our data devices are the ones that cannot SEND 160+ characters.

now that I go on to read that you have tmobile, which I didn't catch....uhh I'm not 100% if my words of wisdom still apply but I cant image it would just leave you hanging, without receiving the rest of the txt message...I'd still get it checked out.

I text several people on T-mobile regularly and they only get the first 140 characters. None of them have BB's so I don't know if that makes a difference. I just checked and the T-mobile site says 160 characters but from experience, that's not always the case.
