I have done a search, but can't find the answer to this:

I have alot of new contacts to enter. Is there some way to enter them into Desktop Manager on my laptop and then sync? Or does all new data have to be entered thru the BB unit?

Use Outlook to enter then sync to your BB via Desktop Manager.

If not Outlook, you can enter them in Excel and save as a CSV file, and sycn that as well.

Just enter them into a PIM (Like outlook) and use Desktop Manager to transfer them to the BB.

DM isn't a PIM app. RIM doesn't make anything like the Palm Desktop. I'd also recommend Outlook.
