Default BeamBerry Help

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8320 and I just got the 10 Day Trial of BeamBerry. Seems pretty simple to use, but when I upload a PDF onto the SD card it seems to take forever just to open it.

When I click open it says "Transferring File..." and I have to wait several minutes before it opens (more than 4 or 5). Just doesn't seem right. Unless I misread something, I think the website says seconds to open up files.

Alot of my school documents are in PDF files and it would be nice to be able to view them... But waiting 10 mins to open up a PDF just doesn't seem practical.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

EDIT: It appears to only take this long upon opening it the first time, but that first time takes an incredibly long time. A bit inconvienient.

It has to transfer the file to their server first before it can open it. If it's a big .pdf that can take a little while.

They are supposedly coming out with an update to the app so that it will open .pdf's locally.

Oh... Gotcha. Yeah that would be AWESOME. Any idea when that will be available?

Usually when I get a PDF in an Email I can wait until I get home, but alot of my course stuff would be nice to keep on my BB device that way I don't have to carry around a laptop.

No idea yet.

With BeamBerry you can save the attachment to your My Documents folder on the BeamBerry server. Then you can "move" the document to your SD card. It's a bit of a workaround but it does work. It would be nice if you could save directly to the card but that capability hasn't been added.
