I am getting a Curve this Friday from VZW. Would it have the 4.5 update installed already? How can I check to know?
Is the 4.5 update available for the VZW Curve?

New member here, and new to the BB world as well. Sorry if this is a stupid newbie question.

Nope it will ship with 4.3 hopefully 4.5 will be out this summer, but that's a whole different topic...

There are no 4.5 OS's available here for the 8330. They haven't been released yet.

(I see 8300 in your profile and Verizon as the carrier. You'll have less confusion around the forums if you change that to 8330.)

WHy one should do this i.e. change from 8300 to 8330.
My bb is 8300, why should i call it as 833.

There is a copy of the beta for O.S 4.5 for the CDMA curves out there.. I just loaded it and it worked fine, but I would only recommend someone with experience even attempt to load it.

There are slight differences but the main difference is which Curve is carried by which carrier. 8300, 8310, 8320, and 8330 are all Curves but each one is slightly different and is supported by different carriers.

As posted already by others there is a BIG difference between the 8300 and the 8330. If your BB is from Verizon then your BB is an 8330. The profile information really helps us help you when issue arise. It was just a suggestion, not a requirement. You can put 12345 in your profile if you want to but it makes it harder for people to help you.
