This is my first post and I need some help.

I charged my 8310 over night last night and when I turned it on this morning, all of my Calendar entries are now gone. I'm not sure what to do? I don't sync it to anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't sync and never did a back up then there is not much you can do...

But go to options> status> hit the menu key to the left of the track ball amd go to database sizes and scroll down to the calendar and make sure they are really gone.

yeah there all gone.... I'm wondering if this may be a glitch with my phone, I've only had it a month and I'm very new to the blackberry world.

First-- do this:

Open your calendar > Menu > Options > General Options > Number of Entries = ????

If you have an email associated with the calendar in the Options screen, you will need to look at that email specific to find the number of entries.

LIKEWISE, sometime calendar entries can be a sign of low memory.
At Options > Status, what is your File Free number?

there only 4 entires now and those are the ones I have just entered this morning. I don't have email sent up yet on the Blackberry and I don't have too much use for that right now. I really got it for its great calender for organizing my life and bluetooth.

memory says - 23259529 bytes free

I think I'm SOL, but I will defiantly be looking into back things up every night.

Well, let me be the first to state that your BB won't just delete calendar items for grins and giggles, all by itself. There are instances that it has done so in the case of low memory to make room for emails, as a priority.

Turning your device back on in the morning should have no impact on the calendar.

As a last measure, if you have not already, with the BB powered ON, remove the battery for the 30 seconds, replace it, reboot and check the calendar again.

yeah this is the odd thing about it, I shut it off, charged it up and then turned it back on it the morning like I do every night. I'm just not sure.

I took the battery out this morning thinking it would help, but all I got was an empty calender.

I had a basic email account on there last week, just to try it out, but then deleted the account a couple days ago because I didn't have much use for it? would that have caused my calendar to disappear?

That would have been the reason!

yeah I added my email account and my calandar came back just like it was before. God I feel stupid!!!!

I am with Mr. Sander and the calendar entries had to be deleted by other than the device. These things do not just happen without a reason and with over 22gb of free memory, I can't see you device turning on you.

Backing up daily is not usually required but at least once a week for me.

Good grief, in my log winded two cents, the reason was figured out! <vbg>

yeah this little panic experience has been a great BIG learning curve on backing up, that's the first thing I'm going to do when I get home tonight.
