Default Opera Mini - 06-27-2008, 03:51 PM

Why would my BB browser be running fine on the EDGE network, but the Opera Mini isn't? (very slow to not loading)

Isn't running on the same network?

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Well. Opera has its own servers to deal with it.

However, I think the opposite of would you are saying is correct. If Opera is running well then I would expect the bb browser to be successful.

Sometimes I need to pull my battery to speed up Opera.

Yeah, well Opera is very slow compared to the BB browser...anyone share there optimum settings? What about the box that you can check that says "wifi" ? What about "mobile view"?

*Does it give you the message that "Opera is attempting to access...." everytime you load a page?

i think the wifi box thing is an error as there really should be a wifi prefered option.
opera is quite slow in the uk on edge but if you check the wifi box and then save the settings it works fast on wifi.

mobile view just gives you the page in more or less wap... i find more likely than not opera is a tad faster than native BB browser...

I've changed the setting to socket and it's running WAY faster.

I agree, I think that Opera is almost twice as fast on EDGE, especially on larger websites.
