NewB Q's

what exactly is memory leak ? and what are the downfalls/affects of it ? either upgrading to the new OS betas or in general ? curious becuase im interested in downloading the new OS

i took the time to search it up but could not find a answer to my Q'

help is much appreciated thnx for any answers i get

The memory leak is present in all current OS's. It is caused by the application switcher (RIM documented). Low memory will cause slow performance and if it drops low enough it will erase all non-essential data including SMS messages and phone logs.

A short term fix is to pull your battery out and replace back in while you have the device on.

As a rule, I do this task when my memory drops below 10 MB

You memory can be checked by going to options-status.
