Default Couple of problems with OS 4.5/BIS 2.5 - 06-30-2008, 04:24 AM

1.) What's the deal with the new html e-mail not showing all pics even after you click "get pic"?? Most of the time the html is showing instead of plain text, but when I for example drag a web-hosted pic into the message box of a new email and send it to myself, it doesnt show in the email on my BB...I would go back to my Empower trial since it lets you change the colors and display of e-mails, but it seems that now with Empower, every message I get just says "trial mode" and nothing else in the message (unless it's a bug with the new OS that I just loaded up because the Empower trial was working fine before!!)

2.) When my screen backlight has timed out and gone black, usually I would press the trackball in to turn it back on or sometimes the spacebar...whenever I used to click the ball in it would just light up and stay where it is, but now with the new 4.5 OS, I press the trackball to light it back up again, but it acts as if the screen was on already and responds to the ball being pressed and therefore goes into whatever icon it had been highlighting previously (usually the message folder). This is extremely annoying..any fix or is it a bug in 4.5? Desperate to get rid of this issue...

3.) Whenever I try to forward an old message I have on my device to myself again just for whatever reason (all done on the device, not on the desktop), it tries to send then shows a red 'X' next to the e-mail in the list and does not send. What is going on? Happens every time now and never happened to me before!! Fortunately any new e-mails since I upgraded OS/BIS can be forwarded just fine so it's not that big of a deal.

4.) I use the Precision 9000 zen theme and now since I put 4.5 OS on, the theme displays great on the main Zen home screen, but when I click the app button to go to the full app menu, the top banner with the time, date, signal, etc goes back to the normal theme version instead of the Precision version of the banner. Happens every time I go to the full app menu...soo annoying!!

Those seem to be my biggest issues with 4.5. Sometime the images load, and sometimes they dont. Also has some bugs after a battery pull, but like Dawg said, welcome to the beta.

According to RIM's KB15254 - Configure HTML email messaging support in BlackBerry Internet Service 2.5"

For security reasons, externally linked images must be manually downloaded.

This means that only images that are embedded in the actual email will automatically load - for linked images you will always have to select "get images" for each email you read.

External images still require you to click on the menu button. They say it maybe because spammers check to see if you have downloaded the images in their emails.

I load up 4.5 on my 8310. I was wondering did you guys notice battery consumption going faster than the older version?
It was an easy upgrade with the 4.5 desk manager but I can't see the average Joe doing this kind thing.

Having to select "get images" every time is a real pain. RIM has to realize we are all big boys (or girls) here and can make a decision for ourselves whether or not we want to set an option to do it automatically. MS came to that conclusion 10 or 15 years ago with Outlook.

go into options change messages from normal to urgent save then change back see if that helps. I havent had these issues but have seen people say they fixed it by doing that

Mine didn't work right away, I woke up the next morning to HTML emails. Also, my images didn't show up until I added the string: wap.voicestream.com in the APN settings...
