Default Retrieving old phone numbers...

Please Login to Remove!

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum. I was looking through my phone and realized that I no longer have a number of someone that I wanted to talk to, but I know I had it on my phone a while back. I was wondering if there is a way to extract/see phone numbers from the backup file rather than restoring my device back to an old date and re-restoring it again.

Only use for your back up is for restoring your device. You can do a selective restore but there is no contact manager that reads your backups. It is all of none.

In the future if you have Outlook, I do a sysnc with it just for an extra layer of security

You can look in Messages >View Folder >Phone Call Logs. Everything for the last 30 days is stored there.

You can backup/restore the address book only...it's in desktop mgr (mgr 4.5, don't know about the older ones) under Synchronize. You have to set it up to backup the address book...it also can backup memos and a few other things. It will save whichever you choose into it's own individual backup file just for that one portion you are backing up

I have doen the same thing long ago and did a back up to my phone and then restored the old phonebook long enough to get the info and then another restore to bring me back to current.

Ungangly but it worked.

Go into Messages and hit ALT + P this will display the full call log. If it has already disappeared from there you can attempt the follow but it will require a lot of patience:
