thanks guys,
another issue i have, i upgraded for a firend blackberry desktop to 4.5, his 8300 curve runs 4.2.2 OS, and i have an error 0x3b21 when i try to synchronise the curve. I've reinstalled desktop software, pulled off the battery, and have always the same error code!
Any idea?

Not sure. Sounds like a PC error and not a BB error. However, you could always upgrade his OS to 4.5, too.

Yeah, You may need to downgrade. You might try reinstalling DM 4.5, though, first. Is this on Vista or XP?

I would try reinstalling 4.5. If it doesn't work, try 4.3 again and see what happens.

I just installed .37 yesterday- bad timing on my part. Is there an area in the forums that discusses the differences between the two? You say to dump .37 and load .52- is there any advantage to the newer version other than being newer?

Thanks,
John

Default Error during upgrade to OS 4.5 - 07-29-2008, 11:51 AM

Hi John,

Could you do me a favour ?
I followed your guide closely but I failed after about 10 minutes of upgrading progress.
The screen just showed that my Curve just had finished the back up for third party and during connect to the phone, another screen appeared like the attached image here.

The message is "Unable to complete the loading operation: Unspecified error encountered [A:0x00000001]"
Then I clicked "Close", the OS roll back to the current version.

I successed in upgrading new OS for my Curve before but it symptom has never happened.

Hope to get your help. Thanks.
PM

minhnp, I would recommend for one, downloading and installing the more recent released version of this OS located here:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

Then before beginning the OS upgrade, reboot both your PC and the BB, and proceed.

Default LINK FOR OS v4.5 FOR BB 8300 - 08-13-2008, 05:20 AM

yo man....all that east asia crap....is bullshit....i've tried it 4 times now...twice with the Blackberry 8300 (TM) option and twice with the Blackberry Curve (TM) option....none of it is working and it's just pissing me off...if someone does have the real link to the new OS 4.5 for Blackberry 8300 plz put it up

Once again if someone can provide me with the actual link to the .exe file or the zip file...i'd appreciate because i've tried this one in soo many ways and all it is is a version of the Blackberry Desktop Manager which i already have.

Thanks in Advance

Wow...great first post (sarcasm intended.)

Nobody is going to hand it to you on a silver platter when you post like that here. I just clicked on where it says "Download 'here'" and it works just fine.

Sounds to me like it's your own BS and not clicking the correct link above.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.52(EastAsia) (Includes English)

Package Version: 4.5.0.52
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.37
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.55
* File name: 8300EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel52_PL2.7.0.55_A4.5.0.37_S tarHub.exe
* File size: 75.6MB

Download here.

To install this software on any 8300:

1. Download and install the latest Desktop Manager. Click here.
2. Download and install the OS packaged linked above.
3. Delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Connect BB, open Desktop Manager and you should be prompted to upgrade.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

(Link to previous 4.2.2.194 OS Click Here.)

This particular version was known to damage sim cards on some TMobile devices requiring the sim to be replaced during beta testing. TMobile users load at your own risk.

*Note: Also, on all devices it's a good idea to make a backup of your media card before loading OS 4.5. Constant reboots can occur when using media cards formatted in OS 4.2 or 4.3 in OS 4.5. Then reformat the media card in OS 4.5 and restore your data.

*Note: While in Application Loader be sure and check to boxes to add Documents To Go to your device. Failure to install Documents To Go will cause java errors in some 3rd party apps.
The download link is in bold above

It has nothing to do with East Asia "crap", it is a new OS that happens to be released there. Most of our forum members upgrade to many other foreign (or domestic) versions when they are released because they will include English as an option. I agree with the Mod, with that kind of attitude, you'll give little or no help from people.

while in the middle of the upgrde my dog hit the usb cable and that's when everything went haywire! It had already backed up the applications and data and deleted them. Now the desktop manager doesn't recognize my 8310 and there's no PIN loaded into the BB. The LED blinks twice in red every 2 or 3 seconds. I've removed the battery, sim card and nothing. Can somebody please help before I have to go to AT&T 2morrow and look like a fool!
