Default Charging issues USB-Yes, Wall-No - 07-08-2008, 05:38 AM

I have the 8330 for about 6 months now and the wall charger does not seem to be working. I have tried 2 different chargers and different outlets to eliminate the fact that I may have a defective charger or outlet. The funny part about this problem is that I now have the phone plugged into my USB and it is charging.

Why is the phone charging via USB but not the wall ???

If the USB port is broken why is this happening ???

Any suggestions ???

Thanks

I had this happen once on an 8703e and I had to pull the battery for about 30s for it to come back to normal charging life. Give that a shot. Barring that see if a bit of cable jiggling causes the charging to get back on track. If so, you might have some internal cable wear-and-tear you'll have to get addressed.

Maybe you're using one of those USB 4 ports or something. Try plugging it in directly to the computer.

When i was at the store buying my curve someone came in with this problem. Three brand new chargers in various outlets would not work on his phone, even tho the reps was fine on them. Used the reps usb and worked great. Battery reset solved the issue.

I've actually had to run the battery almost all the way down before it charges through the wall outlet, the bad thing is my battery never seems to die.
