Default Noob BIS Question - 07-08-2008, 01:13 PM

Okay, so I have pretty extensive knowledge of the Blackberry and the BES infrastructure, but the Mrs. is Jonesing for a berry of her own.

Right now she is using a hosted exchange solution with a Windows Mobile phone. Everything syncs perfectly. If I were to switch her to a BB, I'm concerned about what will or won't sync (specifically using the BIS with IMAP or OWA set-up).

Can someone clarify if her Calendar will sync?

I successfully set up her OWA account on my BIS, but I couldn't change the calendar sync option (my guess is because I'm on a BES that already syncs is?)

Any help would be great!

BIS works great for email but will require a cabled calendar synch unless you go with a hosted BES solution. There are a couple of 3rd party software packages and services that will let you synch calendar OTA for a lesser fee that hosted BES.

No wireless sync for calendar and contacts if you use BIS. As the previous poster mentioned, there are also hosted BES service such as mailstreet and exchangemymail that will provide that service for the BB. Perhaps the service she currently uses can also do it?

BIS doesn't sync anything. It only pushes mail to the device as its retrieved from the integrated email accounts.
