My main use is for multimedia: books/magazines for use with MobiPocket Reader; audio files for the media player; and for storage of pictures snapped using the built in camera.

The latest OS also allows you to view office documents stored on the SIM card.

Keeping your device memory free so that the BB doesn't start to delete your data because you filled device memory with photos, music, ringtones, video, etc...

You can also save video from blueapple.mobi on your card.

Store photos, ringtones, music, etc. Everything except your actual programs.

Cannot load software to the card.

Same here.... movies, mp3, ringtones, wallpapers, themes, photos, attachment downloads....
I also use it to store other data since you can also use it as a standard USB drive. Wayfinder stores some information on it. Other programs might also make use off the sdcard.

When my 4GB comes in, it'll have ringtones, photos, apps, and video stored onto it.
