when I recieve a email and hit reply and type a message back is that me sending a email back or is that now texting?
I ask because when I reply it just shows the name of the person Im responding to and not their email address....but their email address is in my address book...I'll stop rambling but not clear as I dont have unlimited text...thank you please.

It's email. Email = data. If you are on a BB data plan don't sweat it!

That is all email.

Emails have an envelope icon next to them, and text have a slightly different icon next to them (a bit italicized).

Also you can see the email address by highlighting the name in the reply. Pressing the application button and choosing Show Address.

...and text messages won't have email headers (subject, cc, etc).

By default, the BB will reply using the method that the message was received. You'd have to do some work to reply to an email with a text message.
