Default BB Messenger Icon - 07-09-2008, 12:26 AM

Hey guys, I just got a BB 8320 Curve through T-Mobile upgrading from my Pearl.

Anyway, all is going well except that there is no icon for the BlackBerry Messenger. I was quite comfortable with setting up my main screen to look like the following...

Keyboard Lock | Address Book | Browser | Messages | BlackBerry Messenger

I've moved the first for successfully, but I can't find out how to add the BBM icon. In order to use it I have to hit the Menu key to open the full menu, hit it a second time in order to select Switch Application and then scroll over to the messenger. Please tell me that there is a way to shortkey my most used application to the main menu, and from there it should be easy to arrange it how I would want it.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if I'm overlooking something quite simple, but it's driven me mad over the last 2 hours.

Noto,

Did you purchase a BB data plan? without it you cannot use this feature.

Yes, my plan has remained unchanged. I can use the BB Messenger, and I've even tested it out with some of my mates already. It works, I simply don't have an icon for it on the main screen. I have to go through the steps that I mentioned to access the feature.

If your using the t-mobile zen theme, then BB msngr icon will be in the IM APP Folder. You can move it out of that folder. Or u can change the theme and there won't be any IM folder and all the IM's will be on the home screen...hope this helps

Brilliant! I had no idea that was a folder! Now I feel like a dolt, but at least it works. I have it set up precisely how I like it.

Thanks, mate!
