I remember seeing a long time ago on this site that there are some specific things that have to be done, which are different than doing a normal restore to the same phone.
If there is enough charge left on the bad 8320 then install Desktop Manager on your PC and use the switch device wizard. Otherwise, install desktop manager, connect the phone and Click Backup/Restore then restore. Don't forget to log into BIS and update your PIN and IMEI. If you are on BES do a restore and then ask for an Enterprise Activation.
Gotta love those backups!!
