So I have/use about 5-7 different themes on my BB and with the application themes and like to hide some of the icons and/or move them. Is this supposed to stick between switching of themes? If so, then how do you make that happen? if not, are there any tricks to use that may satisfy my need some?

No you can move back and forth. They will stay and save in each theme but you still have to initially move the items where you want.
