Unhappy MyFaves won't open? - 08-08-2008, 02:20 AM

I just upgraded to the 4.5 firmware and myfaves won't open? It shows the pictures are there when I refresh, but when I try to open it, it does nothing. Help!

Did you try a refresh of myfaves from the device? Look under Options >myFaves (I think that's where it is) and do a refresh. If that doesn't work a quick call to TMobile to have them refresh them will fix it. DON'T tell them you upgraded to 4.5. Just tell them you can't get them to refresh and can they refresh them.

I had the same issue with a friends 8320 and MyFaves. I never saw it to resolution but everyone here says that a refresh by TMobile will fix it up.

Well I decided to turn it off and then on again, that seems to have helped. It is slow loading them, and the pic of my friends are not there. But Maybe I just need to do some tweeking.

When I messed with it on my friends (I don't have myfaves) it just said refreshing and never changed. A manual refresh gave 4 one time, then 2 another time and stayed there after that. Just give TMobile a call.

Default "More Available xxxx bytes" "Get Plain Text" html error? - 08-08-2008, 01:44 PM

My html email is working most of the time, but sometimes I get emails with no message. Where the message should appear, I get the message "More Available bytes." If I go to the menu and choose "Get Plain Text," the message is displayed. Does this mean my html email isn't set up right, or does this just mean the original message was sent in plain text?

Ok, I got 4.5 all loaded on and everything. Then I was having problems with myfaves list, got that all refreshed by t-mobile. I even tried the video camera, it is great. I am excited. Now one problem I am having that I didn't before, it I had Yahoo Go. And I get it all set up and then go into my e-mail, or to look at the weather or something, and it won't go back a page. The only way to get out is to hit the end button. I have deleted it and reinstalled it a few times, but still won't work like it did. Anyone else have this issue or know how to correct it?

Yahoo Go is not compatible with OS 4.5.x.xx. It is a known problem that it SEEMS to work correctly until you hit the back button. Then, you are screwed. The back button doesn't work.

What I have found on my Curve and the wife's Pearl is that I go to the my.t-mobile.com site and then "Manage MyFaves". After that, I change the icon for the MyFaves that are not working to something else. That sends the signal to the phone to adjust the MyFaves accordingly and then, after the phone acknowledges that change, I change the icon back to what I want and the MyFaves is refreshed.

Works every time.

Well that really sucks big time. I hope they are working on a fix for that. I really love yahoo go. Thanks for the info. I will not download it anymore until I hear it is fixed.

What carrier are you with? Usually you can get the OS from their website.

Are you currently using 4.5.0.52? Are you having an issue? Maybe we can solve it without you having to downgrade.

I have a strange one now myself. I don't think I care but im not sure.

When i first did the install i didnt bother with blackberry maps because i had googlemaps installed. then i got curious and wondered if BBmaps was any better now.. so installed it from DM.. it went on fine, shows up in setup>advanced options (maps) and then also >applications listed maps 4.5.

but the program icon is not on my curve, so i cannot load it, it is not invisible i have checked. very strange. also took it on/off a few times and *yawn* pulled the battery a few times..

hmmmmm.. should i care? is there any point having hte 4.5 BBmaps when you have googlemaps?

Default 4.5 and speakerphone - 08-11-2008, 12:21 PM

I just noticed that my speakerphone is not working. Don't know whether that happened with 4.5 or not.

Can anyone confirm that their speaker is working with 4.5?

Thanks,

I Searched the thread and didn't see anything on this topic...

Anyone have problems using Live Search with 4.5.0.75/4.5.0.52?

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I keep getting a message saying

"The application live_search has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy."

I've used JL_Cmder to restore the device to factory settings. The phone had a blank IT policy once from this forum. From what I've read if you are using OS 4.5 and above and use restore to factory settings it should completely wipe any IT Policy on it.

Does the device have the blank policy or did you do the "resettofactory?"

Default What languages are included in the East Asian firmware version? - 08-11-2008, 04:13 PM

Hong Kong CSL has a 4.5 version listed as the East Asian version. Will it be Chinese, Japanese and Korean? I think English should be included right?
Thanks!

Look at the filename. If it has "East Asian" or "CJK" it will have the languages you want. English is included in ALL OS's.

It looks like HK CSL's version is 4.5.0.44. I really don't recommend anything earlier than 4.5.0.52. If you need the languages, it may work better for you, though.

I used resettofactory and the BB went through the whole process of wiping itself.

After it came back I only restored Address Book, Password Keeper, Calendar, and Messages from my previous back-up.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

Have you EVER applied the blank policy? If so, it could still be on the computer and will apply to any BB you connect to the DM. You can tell by looking at your firewall and see if it has a small lock on it.

Damn, Firewall is enabled and there is a small red lock to the left of it :( I thought I removed the policy.bin file and deleted the registry entry though

I'll get to work on that. Thanks John Clark!

It must still be there somewhere. In the thread about removing the policy I mention to make sure it's all removed or any BB attached will get the policy. As a side note: I did create a new policy which allows the split pipe connection (inside/outside firewall business.)

after installing this latest os on my 8320 on tmobile my battery has died. not sure if its os related or due to a bad battery. after 20-30 minutes of use (messaging and opera browsing) the berry will shut off and will not turn back on until the battery is pulled. if the phone will restart, the battery life is at 15% or less and phone goes into radio off mode. this happening to anyone else?

Default Different? - 08-12-2008, 10:38 AM

Is there any real big difference between OS 4.3.1 for my curve that i am currently running and 8320 4.5.0.75/4.5.0.52?

I do notice the one i am running now does not save my costumized menu icon placement but thats not a big deal, the video recording works so that i am happy about.

So can anyone tell me if its the same OS just branded differently or a totaly new upgrade, thanks.

My buddy over at an undisclosed location and company sent me 4.5.0.69 and he tells me that its like the 4.3 i had on my blackberry but with performance tweaks. so i am upgrading to that version as we speak.

So that makes me bealive that 4.3 and 4.5 are the same but just different number branding. RIM has totally skipped 4.4 and i also heard that 4.6 and 4.7 are making Beta rounds.

So after the I wiped the ITPolicy completely and FINNALY... I am still having problems using Live Search with OS 4.5. I'm assuming it's OS 4.5 because I was able to use this application without problems in OS 4.2 even with the IT Policy on it.

- No ITPolicy on it (Firewall is disabled without a padlock icon).
- Application has been removed and reinstalled.
- When attempting to update it errors "Sorry, we can't download the applicaiton data. Please check your network connection.
- When adjusting the network configuration for Live Search you can select default, Direct HTTP, or BES/MDS. You can also check a box that says Use only WiFi interface.

I can use Live Search but only when I check the box that says Use only WiFi interface. This is not a solution for me since I can't use it on the go. :(

Anyone know of a Live Search tech support site?

Default Video Issues on 4.5 - 08-12-2008, 05:12 PM

I just installed this update on my Tmo 8320 and I love the new features!!

I have been having major issues with video. I cannot playback, send, or save any of the videos I create.

I have tried reformatting my SD card and still nothing.

Any ideas?
