The cod file for the pre-installed wallpapers is not present in this release. That cod file ALSO includes the customizable folders (green, purple, etc.).

Can anyone please confirm / deny this report? I'd hate to upgrade and lose my calendar syncing...

That and a few other issues will keep me from upgrading right now. It is nice to see that a newer official version is right around the corner.
Okay so can someone provide the link to back-rev this version of the device OS?

Downgrade is what you desire?
Decide what version OS you desire... and have at it.
How do I downgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

Find previous OS versions by looking at the bottom of the first post in each OS thread, normally we link the previous version.

Wow, you have to be fast around here. I had .37 on my phone, downloaded .44 Monday installed today and noticed .52 was out. WHEW! Just installed .52.

No problems with either OS upgrade. My free memory went from 20 - 22 - 26 with easch upgrade.

I'm a happy camper.

I figured out the issue with pressing "i" and placing in a folder option not appearing. It only works with emails from my BES account, not BIS. So now I know.

I upgraded to .44 on monday. All went well. I'm trying to upgrade to .52, I've followed the instructions. However when I open DM I'm not prompted to upgrade like I was when I upgraded to .44

Can someone help me? or give me a reason I'm not prompted to upgrade..

Thanks, Brasco

Wirelessly posted

I think I upgraded properly. I ran the DM and it hung the first time. Second time I did it I got an updated successfuly and my BB is more beautiful than ever.

Just double checking on a couple of things... Did you install new OS to PC? and if so try clicking on app loader to initiate upgrade.

I downloaded .52 and ran the install. Then plugged in my 8310 and opened DM 4.5.

When I upgraded monday DM automatically located .44 and asked me if I wanted to upgrade.

I also tried to run the loader from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

Thanks for the help. Hopefully this gives more info to you.

Update - after more searching of the Forum, I found a thread about calendar sync (from a previous version). I had to delete the Desktop[Sync] service book and redo my Enterprise Activation. Works like a charm now.

Im having a problem not being able to see the stripes when its set to stripes. If I tilt the phone on a huge angle I can see where they're supposed to be but it doesnt work. Its almost like theres not enough tint for the color of the stripe. They all just look white unless I hold it on an angle.

You may never notice a difference. Many times version changes fix bugs we never knew existed. Or the newer version changed something that isn't visible to the user at all.

Upgraded to 4.5.0.52 this morning. No problems. LOL. This is third upgrade in less htan two weeks. I held off a while on upgrading to .37 to see if anything came out and finally gave in. A week later .44 came out so upgraded to that and now .52. Good news is I'm getting pretty good at running John Clark's memory optimization process by now.

And for those who are worrying about frying the TMO SIM, so far, no problems at all with mine and I don't expect any.

I upgraded a couple of days ago - overall everything went great. However, yesterday I started noticing the 8310 "crashing" during phone calls. I'm not sure if it's always at the same time interval, and it happens both on incoming and outgoing calls. It also doesnt always happen, but often enough to be annoying. It essentially does a full (long) power up cycle. Anyone else notice this issue? Any suggestions (other than the obvious downgrade...)?

Thanks,
Ian

everything seems good did the upgrade a few hours ago! All is well so far. After a reset with .37 i had around 22.2 megs free and now i have 24.8 free. It is definetly faster (more efficent?) Havent made alot off calls yet though. A piece of advice to everyone before i do an upgrade i make sure i run an registry error program after i install the new software and always do a restart on the computer before an install. plus i do a battery pull to make sure the phone is good and ready. it might have no effect on the out come but it could help.
