You likely performed the memory optimization from John Clark's post, removed the VAD Voice Activated Dialing, and overlooked reading that this removes Options > About.

Instead press Alt + Shift + H
or
Hold down Alt and type E A C E.

John, I followed your instructions, and did the upgrade on my TMo 8320. Everything seems to be fine after some adjustments (most learned form the fine folks in this forum!) but like many find Google Maps hanging up on the install. After much reading, I saw you posted Google Maps 1.6.4 would work well, but after a fair amount of searching on the web can't find anything but the latest version. Any suggestions as to where I could locate 1.6.4 for download?

Thanks very much!!

I did the upgrade on Friday to my 8300. It's really awesome to be able to capture video, but I noticed when playing videos or music, the resolution seems lower and the sound quality isn't as good. Anybody know how to fix this??

Compared to what?

A 2 megapixel camera isn't going to be recording HD video with lossless sound, you know

I figured if you were smart enough to have a BB and be a member of this forum you'd understand that I was referring to sound and video played on my BlackBerry BEFORE upgrading the OS. Sorry I didn't spell that out for you.

Now run along and hopefully a non-smartass member will be able to add a sensible response ...and hey maybe even a solution!

Norseman, that didn't look like a smart-ass response to me. Please keep your insults off of this forum.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

In the first post it states that it will work on ANY carriers 8300. So, yes, it will work fine.

You're kidding me right? Like I really thought my BlackBerry records sound and video in HD? Maybe if he put a smiley or an "LOL" But the way it was posted it looked like he was trying to make me look stupid. Anyway I said my peace and let it go. Not worth my time.

I have upgraded my 8310 on the Rogers network. Only glitch so far is with the video recorder.

I am running the latest 4.5.0.52 release on my 8310 and the video does not work on this release or on previous 4.5 releases. It allows me to record but does not save the video nor allow me to play it back.

I can't even close the application without pulling the battery on the Berry.

Other than that the upgrade went well. Just don't forget to delete the vendor.xml file after the upgrade install on your PC (and before you connect your Berry).

Question Problem Downgrading - 07-23-2008, 12:35 PM

Hello there all,

I have a problem...I recently upgraded to os 4.5 but there were some errors with my telenav. To fix it I need t odowngrade back to 4.2 and then reinstall 4.5 without backing up the telenav application. When I try to downgrade there is no Prompt to do so. I think I followed the steps correctly. Can anyone post the steps to downgrading? It would be lovely to use applications that I pay for! Thanks alot guys

I am on Rogers and upgraded to 4.5. I havent had any glitches or anything. Even my MMS works fine picture and video work great. Only thing is when upgrading os's dont back up applications that you can easily redownload. As I wrote in another post, I had a error with Telenav but downgrading and reupgrading and not backing it up will solve it. Overall everything went fine!

I upgrade all the time and haven't reinstalled TeleNav in ages. Before you downgrade, what is the error? Do you have Documents To Go installed?
