I got my old 8310 wet and had to get a replacement yesterday. I used the switch device to change the phones and all my contacts and stuff transfered as they should, but none of my themes or apps did.

When I run the application loader to reinstall them, it works fine till the desktop says "connecting to rom" and then my phone just reboots and I get a connection error message on the desktop.

I have tried it many times, tried to load from my back up file, etc. etc and I just can not get them to load or the application loader to not make my phone reset at the same point each time.

I have been searching on here, but maybe I am not using the right terms? Can someone maybe get me on the right track? I have pulled the battery many times, sent the service books several times, and am getting no where.

Phone wet + acting weird afterwards = broken phone. Usually.

You should have not turned it on for a couple days and laid it somewhere warm like on top of the cable or satellite TV box to allow it to dry out more.

Yes - did for like a week. Laid on door of oven with it set to low, laid it in the window in the sun, put it in bag with dec. gel to draw out moisture...the phone itself worked fine, the screen was just dark and very hard to read. Leaving for africa next week and did not want to go with a suspect phone. That is why today I went and got a NEW phone and that is the phone I am having trouble with - not the one I get wet.

Got it. Upgraded to DM 4.5 and reloaded everything and at 1:30am....she came back to life....
