Default Battery Pull Question - 07-21-2008, 10:30 PM

Is there a difference between turning off your device and doing a battery pull, as opposed to pulling the battery while the device is on..?

Cheers

They say to have the device powered on when pulling the battery. That recommendation comes from RIM so I'd say, yes, there is. Make sure it's on when you pull the battery.

Thanks, JC..

So, since it comes from RIM, it should be fairly safe to do so too, I presume..

Once is a soft reset. Twice is a hard reset.

The hard reset is supposedly equivalent to a battery pull but in my experience that's not always the case. There seem to be times when a battery pull will help to clear an issue that Alt-Right Shift-Del twice won't...

Default Battery Pull - 07-22-2008, 07:04 PM

So is it recommended to pull the battery at a set interval, such as weekly, monthly?

Weekly is a good idea. It clears out memory and gives you a fresh start.
