Default Face Lens Plate - 07-22-2008, 01:17 PM

I am losing my mind over the number of tiny scratches already appearing on my 8310!!! I'm an admitted klutz by nature, and so my holster is constantly scraping into doorjams and even loose change and keys in my pocket.
I see that there are warehouses for people like me that would love to replace the face plate, lens plate, etc. How pratcitcal is it to remove the lens cover and install the new one? Am I voiding any warranties? I can't emphasize how much I hate the scratches I have!

Had to edit that. Darn autotext. Anyway Horizon should be able to help you. It WILL void your warranty.

Its easy. 4 screws and that is all. Just need the housing, and the screwdriver (radioshack sells the tool for $15) and it is a piece of cake.

If it's JUST the lens cover (the clear plastic covering over the screen itself, I replaced the one on my daughter's Curve in about 5 minutes. The part costs $12 +/- US shipped from CNN.CN (China). AFAIK, no warranty breach occurred. The lens is held in place by an adhesive strip (template/gasket). Simply pry off the old broken/scratched lens cover, apply the adhesive strips and stick the new one on. It's been about 4 months since I replaced it and she has experienced nary an issue. Just like new!
