4.3 won't work on your device, but 4.5 will.

Have fun. Welcome to the BBForums.

are those both the same version? I heard people were having issues with the 4.5.. does it matter which carrier I am with? SO I know NOTHING about messing with these phones.

It makes no difference what carrier you're with. Just follow the instructions in the thread linked.

Just realized I linked you to the 8300. I edited to the 8310 thread.

The currently released versions are working quite well.

Welcome to the BB forums.
You may want to do some reading about experiences, good and bad, that other folks have had and are still having, when they upgraded to 4.5. As for me, I'm waiting until ATT sends out the official upgrade.
Good luck.

I have ATT and I am running latest 4.5, as well as previous releases without a problem and the video worked every time.

I am running the latest 4.5.0.52 release on my 8310 and the video does not work on this release or on previous 4.5 releases. It allows me to record but does not save the video nor allow me to play it back.

I can't even close the application without pulling the battery on the Berry.

sd, you need to reload your OS or something. It's worked for most on 4.5

I have loaded multiple versions of the 4.5 o/s - all with the same experience with the video recorder. I'm trying to avoid a full wipe but that may be my only option.

Since this works on everyone elses's 8300, 8310, and 8320 I'd say it's an issue on your setup. My guess is its an issue with your microSD card. You might reformat it in OS 4.5.

You don't need to get it off the ATT site. Most likely ATT will release this version anyway. There's nothing wrong with loading from other carriers. The only difference is included language packs. However, they all include English and you don't have to install the other languages.

Any version will work. I recommend having 4.2 sp2 or higher, though.

carfanatic, what is the right version of Desktop Manager?

Get 4.2, SP2, 4.3 or 4.5. They are all correct and usable.
