It's NOT a beta version...it's the SAME version. You have exactly what is in this thread--nothing different. It's only beta because you got it before this carrier released it. You got it early.

waksat--the 507 error simply means no OS installed.

Which OS is installed to your PC currently? If you are downgrading back to 4.2, use Control Panel on the PC to completely uninstall 4.5 first.

This OS seems to work very well. I've had no issues with it and have been running it since it showed up here.

I wonder if this will work on the 8700's with the 4.5 that do not show the browser?

It's definitely worth a shot. The issue is missing service books - so resending them should fix it.

I have games I have purchased from BBPlay and when I upgraded to the firs 4.5 they had to resend me the numbers to activate. I saved those emails but I'm not sure if they wouldbe the same if I upgraded again. So is there a way I can save the games ie on my computer hard drive so I dont have to keep asking them for a activation number?

thanks

I would just save the activation numbers. I use password keeper for this. The same code should work again on the same device.

I see several references and questions regarding "third party apps"
Do third party apps present any problem with upgrading the OS?

Thanks,

Some are incompatible, some simply won't work and others can prevent the upgrade from being installed.

For the most part, third party apps either work or don't work - most don't really cause problems... but one that did for me was the Surreal theme.

Under support / downloads on the Blackberry site. Select your carrier and the current OS is there to download.

after receive the reset 507 513 whatever error message and fooling around with that for a while...If you receive this error and then unable to connect you must disable the automatic backup under apploader. This relieved all my errors of not connecting and I was able to reinstall os 4.5

Hi everyone!
I have updated to 4.5.0.55 from 4.2 and have loved the new features but now my curve is acting up...

2 days after the upgrade ( i followed regular upgrade procedure, deleting vendor.xml, etc..) I stopped receiving emails and the phone has been showing the hour glass ever minute or so on the main screen. I believe that its trying to connect to data but is unable to. I placed the curve on an old audio speaker and hear they typical cell noise when the hour glass appears. I am able to use BBM and the browser but not receive any emails. I have updated service books from ATT BIS but this did not solve the problem.

I decided to do repeat upgrade by including the wipe step using JL_CMder and this did fix the problem but after a few days the hour glass showed up again....
The continuous attempt to connect to the network is causing battery life to become extremely low too.

I hope someone can give me some advice

Thank you !

Alright, so I just spent some time going through the detailed post on how to clear up more memory. I removed stupid stuff, like PTT, non-used themes, voice activated dialing, etc.

I now have 25,403,352 of memory free. As soon as my berry restarted, I suddenly started getting all the emails I missed today. I also haven't been geting the hourglass either.

So lesson is - keep your berry clean! Max out that memory!

Default .69 does not backup - 08-25-2008, 01:27 AM

Hi all...

I moved back to the .55 and I can now backup the handheld device. Everything worked ok with .69 but I could not backup the device. So, I changed it back. 4.5 DM and .55 OS and everything is back again...

It's usually only one database that the backup hangs up on...usually profiles. Clearing that database usually solves the problem.

Anyone seen issues with speed dial? On 4.2, I was able to use the speed dial keys from the message list, calendar and other places. Now on 4.5, I can only speed dial from the home screen or the phone log. Nothing happens when I press and hold the speed dial key in other applications. "Dial from home screen" is off, like it always has been for me. I've tried the usual battery pull and resend service book.

Thanks,
Malcolm

Ok, on mine it would complete the entire db backup and fail right at the end on version .69. I went back to .55 and happy times. Others are experiencing failure on backup with this version also. So, with that, I will stick to production .55 and everything is working... Thanks for the tip John...

Great, same thing happening as I've had before when messing with the OS - it refuses to sync. Says an "Unknown error reported" or "operation terminated unexpectedly."

Anybody else get this?

How did you fix it? I've already deleted & reinstalled Desktop Mgr, really do not want to reinstall the OS again.....takes FOREVER.......

I do kinda like the new OS though.....

just to let you know:

i managed to fix my problem by deleting all apps: Google Maps, Google Updater, and Facebook.

One of them was causing the phone to not get emails.. don't know which one.

Hope that helps.

Hi...

I could not overcome the backup issue and downgraded to .55. It does take a bit of time but it is not that bad. I individually backed up my address book and message store, memo pad etc. Everything is running fine now on .55.
Good luck...

To follow up myself - I finally gave in and reloaded the OS and my speed dial on the messages screen reappeared. Don't know why it disappeared the first time, but it's back.

JerseyMarine - on Yahoo!Go, there is a new version that you need to download. It's version 3.0.43. This works fine with 4.5.0.55.

This version is too slow. I reverted to 8310EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel52_PL2.7.0.55_A4.5.0.37_B harti.exe.
I still can't get latest Google Maps to work on my device on Airel India network.
