The current version may wipe
Contacts
Tasks / Todos
Calendar events

I would prefer an app that wipes EVERYTHING, like DexMobile

Snake Oil. The BB currently does this natively.

"Snake Oil" means it's something that someone sells you that you don't need.

What would be the difference of just wiping the blackberry by entering wrong password 10 times (default setting) or just doing it under security settings? I prefer JL Commander for wiping anyways.

What is the benefit of a wipe anyways? Mine is having restart issues to say the least...do you think a complete wipe would benefit my 8320? If so, how do I go about wiping!

I used JL_Cmder to wipe my device before I upgraded to 4.5.0.52 the second time. It didn't seem to help the rebooting I see maybe once every other day or so.

I like to start with a clean slate when loading up a new OS so wiping the device first seems like a good idea than trying to load something new over what is already there. Is it needed? Probably not. But it makes me *think* my 8320 is working better. Sort of like when you change the oil in your car. :P

I can't think of any. Well, except for cash in the seller's pocket that wouldn't be there with a device wipe or JL_CMDR wipe.

Hence the "snake oil" comment above.
