Whats going on guys. My girlfriend threw me in the pool this weekend so my phone got ruined. I had a windows based phone and i decided to switch to a blackberry. I purchased the 8320 curve and im in love with it so far. Got a couple fo questions though

1. I been looking around the forum and i noticed that you guys have different homescreens. Where and how do i get a different one? Free would be nice.

2. Is there anyway to autolock the keypad? I would like it to go into lock mode with out hitting the k button.

3. Is there any cool tips or tricks the experts can teach me?

The homescreens are often referred to as themes. You can find a bunch in the media center section of the forums Media Center - BlackBerryForums.com : Your Number One BlackBerry Community

You can set the device to lock automatically by going into Options > Security Options > General Settings and enabling the password, set the security timeout to how long you would like the device to wait before locking.

You can also change the wallpaper if that's what you're referring to when you say "home screen".

If i just bought the phone is my OS 4.5

No it is not. You can find what your current version is by going to Options > about.

So if my OS is a 4.2 can i upgrade it to a 4.5 or is it pointless. Sorry for all the noob questions.

I have new 8310 Att. Read where some have had trouble after upgrade. Should a noob upgrade or are they getting in over their head? I want to get most out of my BB but don't want to fix that which is not broken without a reason.

The latest round of releases are pretty stable. If you have a desire for HTML email, Docs To Go, improved media player, etc, then go for the upgrade. If you are content and what you have then there is no need to upgrade. Its just kind of personal prefference.
