Angry PIN messaging not working

Please Login to Remove!

Alright so, I have a 8320 curve on TMO running 4.5.0.52 and I have a data plan. So why is my PIN messaging not working? When I add a contact by pin, they just sit, pending, even when the person is right across from me. Before I upgraded to 4.5, i was on 4.2.2.180 and it didnt work. I NEVER had this problem with my pearl.

So what is wrong? I have tried resending service books, re-registering the host routing table and calling TMO. NOTHING. Anyone?

Does the other person have a Blackberry data plan? When you send the PIN request, does the other person receive it?

Do you have EDGE/edge/GPRS/gprs in the upper right hand corner of your device?

You said you called T-Mobile... what did they say?

Yes, they have a data plan, and I am either in EDGE or UMA. I called TMO and they had done something on thier end, and then they said to do a bat pull, and re register host routing table. This was a few days ago. Still nothing. I even PIN'D myself. Nothing.

It's probably time to call T-Mobile back. I'd avoid doing so tonight. It's probably busy. Better to try in the morning.

send a pin message to yourself - if it fails you have an issue.

How is PIN messaging working for you when you do not have a data plan?

I suppose the RIM provisioning website could still be set up from a time you had a data plan, but there would be no other way and there would be no guarantee the RIM provisioning tool and T-Mobile's network won't sooner or later sync themselves up.

SOOOOO...called TMO again. Was told the same instructions as I posted in the first post. Called back, got someone new, a *MAN* and voila! he noticed the problem was they had me set up for partial data blah blah, switched and boom, works flawlessly! Even got my push email back! New set up icon, mailbox icon and some handango crap. Anyways, everytime i call, its been a woman, and the 3rd times a charm i guess. am i insinuating something? you bet your aspercreme i am!

I'm glad you got it worked out. You can also check to see what features you have provisioned on your T-Mobile account (and make changes) on the T-Mobile website.
