Default BB 8320 -Strange error after upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I've tried to upgrade my blackberry to OS 4.5.0.75/4.5.0.52 (from 4.2.2)

It looks like something went wrong. I have now a blank screen with small icons and the number 507. After searching the forum I found out that the OS is not installed, however I'm unable to load the OS as described here in the forum.

The DM is asking for a password (see screenshot). Whatever I enter I get to the screen to upgrade to 4.5 I choose next and then I get stucked "Searching device" and the screen of the BB changes to error 561.

Screenshot: akki.lu/Capture_DM.jpg

As anyone an idea? I've upgraded other 8320 phones using the same software without a problem.

Thanks
Nuno

Exact same thing happened to me. I was sweating

Anyway, can't give you exact steps on how to fix it, but I managed to get the DM to recognize the BB after a while, and then did an update from DM and it worked, finally.

I had to play with the usb connection (cable out- cable in) a little, but it worked after a while (my main problem before I got it to work was that the DM couldn't find the BB).

I'm battling that same problem as I type, but no luck. Can't get the DM to find the device. Staring at white screen with "561".

BB_Maniac suggested "Do A Complete Handheld Wipe Using Jl_cmder And Then Load The Os Again... "

Being a bit of a beginer, not sure how to accomplish this. Any further info to get me rolling?

JL_Cmder is in my signature. Download it, install it and use it to wipe the device. When you're done it should say 507 and you can run application loader to load the OS.

I think if you just connect it and then run the application loader even though on the bottom left it says "none" it will still work.

Make sure you're connected to the computer directly and not via a hub or docking station. I had the exact same problem and could only get the DM to reconnect when I ran the cable straight to my laptop rather than the docking station.

JL-CMDER is very easy and quick: download, unzip and run the executable. You'll see an option to wipe. Select that and follow instructions, then you can select quit. Once you've done that you'll see 507 and you're good to go.

The 561 error makes you sweat, huh?

I'm now trying to reinstall my OS after forgetting to delete the Vendor.xml; its unbelievable what aggravation this can cause! I wiped my BlackBerry with the JL_Cmder, I got the 507 error message, when trying to reinstall my OS I got a blank screen with the red LED light flashing... so I wiped the berry again and then restored it to factory setting using the JL_Cmder tool again, then I went back to DM, hit application loader, it found a USB device and i selected it...

Its loading now... praying it should succeed till the end!!!

Default Application Loader Option Stops Load and Causes 561 Error

I've read forum after forum online tonight after my BB wouldn't load the OS. That's what the picture of the window with a circle, square, and triangle inside a circle with a line through it means. I didn't use the JL_CMDER that others have mentioned, but that may work for you.

Here's what I was stuck on:
I open my Desktop Manager v4.6 (I've already installed the latest OS from T-Mobile, v4.5.0.81), power on my BB Curve 8320 and it would get the symbol mentioned above with error # 507. DM connects to my BB, I go to Application Loader > Add/Remove Applications (Start) > Next. It connects to my BB, asks for a password that I know doesn't exist so I just leave it blank and click OK and then my BB gets the symbol mentioned above with error 561. DEAD.

Here's how I got past it:
I open my Desktop Manager v4.6 (I've already installed the latest OS from T-Mobile, v4.5.0.81), power on my BB Curve 8320 and it would get the symbol mentioned above with error 507. DM connects to my BB, I go to Application Loader > Add/Remove Applications (Start) > BEFORE I CLICK Next I click Options and uncheck "Back up device data automatically during the installation process" > click OK to save Options > click Next. DM now could talk to my BB and loaded the OS.

I hope this helps someone out there.
