Unhappy BB server PIN account - 08-01-2008, 10:44 AM

Please, if anyone can help me I would appreciate it a lot.

I bought a new BB curve 8310 on ebay, I thought it wouldn’t be attached to any carrier, but it came with an AT&T logo. It is unlocked for SIM cards; the problem is when I want to setup my email accounts. My new carrier (MOVISTAR) says that there is already an account created for my PIN number, also when I try to create a new account on AT&T the same message appears. I contacted them (AT&T) by chat, and they said that there wasn’t an account created for my PIN number. I really don’t know what to do; they say tat I could contact RIM to ask for my PIN number unlocking. Please if someone can tell me how to unlock my PIN number or where can I go to ask for this, I would thank it a lot.

Welcome to BB Forums (and the difficulties in buying BBs from eBay).

First thing to do is to contact the seller and ask them to delete the account from their BlackBerry Internet Server. They can also call AT&T to do it.

If not, you are going to have to call RIM to ask them to delete the current PIN.

If it's an unlocked at&t device then the existing BIS account might not even be with at&t. Try having your current carrier escalate the matter to RIM to determine which carrier has the BIS account tied to your PIN.
