Default Selectively Disabling E-Mail Accounts

I'm new to BB devices, I have a 8320 with T-Mobile. Right now I have several POP email addresses on the unit including limited access to work e-mail (e.g. being able to receive/view messages, but cannot reply - employer won't allow access to Exchange server...) The question is whether there is a way to selectively disable this account (work) versus removing it from the setup. When I'm at work, I don't specifically need to see messages on my handheld and my desktop (Outlook). The accounts are visible within Blackberry Internet Email through so I don't know if I have to (or can) control it from t-mobile or the handheld. Sorry if this sounds confusing or naive. You could delete the service book while you're at work and then resend service books when you're away.

Options > Advanced Options > Service Book > find the service books that are associated with that email account and delete them from the phone.
