Default My big dumb hands break stuff. Help?

Hello all. I just today received my first shiny new BB curve 8310. I was attempting to insert the SIM card, and accidentally snapped the metal door off it's tiny hinges. I thought maybe a tiny piece of the metal is trapped somewhere in the phone, but can't tell for sure.

I did actually get the metal door back in place over the sim card, and the phone seems to be working totally fine.

Did anyone else ever have this experience? The damn thing is so fragile..

Welcome to the BBForums.

On that model, same as mine, the battery will basically hold the SIM in place. If you feel it is still loose, place a thin business card or piece of paper between the battery and the rear door.

Being brand new, I don't know if ATT will replace it for a broken SIM door hinge, free. They might. There are a couple of ATT CSRs on this board who might comment.

But in my opinion, you will be fine. Give it a couple of days and see. If you get any error messages like SOS or SIM Card Error on the main screen, you will know.
