1. When I first got my Curve in December, it was perfect. But after a while of using it, 1 day it started to lag. When I play brick breaker, the ball skips around when I'm moving the paddle...when I send a text, it takes long to get to back to my texts after i hit "send" (used to be INSTANT)...when I scroll around my menu or through any of my texts, it skips for the most part...and when i use the internet or google maps, it takes REAL long to scroll down on the menus...when I go to my pictures (both in my device memory and my micro sd card), it takes a long time to load. used to be REAL fast....I did a battery pull, deleted all the applications I don't need, and I just updated to 4.5 this morning. The update actually made everything a little slower...I have 21Mb of free space too. Compared to my brothers pearl, his thing is a supercomputer.

2. Nothing major but after the update, I noticed all of my texts had these little squares next to the dates when I open 1 of the texts. Is this normal and is there a way to take those off? I like how it was originally.

3. When connected to my router, sometimes my texts don't send and I don't get texts.


Any help?

1. That's odd. I don't think it's a memory issue at all since 21MB should still be okay. Are there lots of apps running in the background? You can check via Application Switcher or by pressing Alt & Escape together. When you run apps, make sure you close them via the options (BlackBerry button to the left of the trackball) and NOT just hit the End call (red) key. I'm pretty sure you already know this stuff as you've had your Curve since December. A newly-installed app might be causing this although I can't be so sure. See if a wipe and fresh install can help.

2. I don't think we can do anything about the little black squares next to the dates. I just noticed that too, thanks!

3. You need to be connected to the mobile network for you to be able to send text messages. Only data and UMA would work when you're in range of a Wi-Fi network.

Yea there's really nothing open....I test my speed out with brick breaker for the most part since it's the most noticeable (the skipping of the ball at least)...I started to think it might be google maps that did all this. But I just deleted it, restarted, and no change at all with any of my problems. And I know this is not normal because my cousin has a curve and his works MUCH faster than mine. I have no other applications, just some of the important ones like the core applications, browser, and email setup. I cleared all my pictures, even off of my sd card. Still no luck. Also, I don't know how to do a wipe and fresh install. If you could give me a link that explains how to do that it would be great.

And about connecting to the mobile network...when I got my phone in the beginning, when I was connected to my wi-fi, my texts sent FAST. I'm talking about as soon as I sent it, not even a half second later it would send. But when I wasn't connected, it would take double the time (mostly noticeable when sending picture messages). But now, for the most part my texts don't send all the time. I also forgot to mention, when I connect through my wi-fi and try to talk, my calls always drop. Didn't happen in the beginning.

Have you checked into the thread for the 4.5 OS that you loaded on your 8320? There may be issues common to the specific build you're using that would be discussed in that thread. I'd suggest starting there.
