Default Video Playback on Curve Lags?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 4gb scandisk loaded into my blackberry curve 8320 (os 4.5). Currently 3.7gb is full. The problem that I have is that most videos lag on my curve. For example the sound keeps playing but the picture freezes for 4 seconds and then tries to continue. Also many times when I load songs onto my curve, the songs don't show up. I have to do several battery pulls before they finally show up. This didn't happen when when my scandisk card was using only 2 gb. Does anybody have a possible solution?

Is it possible for files to become fragmented on a memory card? With the card so full I wonder if that might be the issue you're having.

I noticed this too when I upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.5

It only stutters and goes out of sync whenever i frame skip using the playing bar.
If I play a video from the beginning until the end, it is fine. Only happens when I'm searching frames.

Thumbs up Video Playback on Curve Lags

Try defragging your media by, inserting your media (micro card) in an adapter or directly in a media reader/writer. (via connection to computer) Then, in Windows go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools and disk defragmenter.
I hope this helps.

Did you re-format your media card when you upgraded to 4.5?

If not I'd suggest you copy the contents of your card to your computer, then go to Options | Media Card then Menu | Format Card, then copy the files back from your computer. Has worked for others.

Just remember to delete the BBThumbs.dat files before you transfer them back. Those have been popping up as a cause of issue for those who have upgraded to 4.5 If you do a search of the forums for BBThumbs.dat you will find the other threads that this has been discussed in.
