Default Can't recieve calls

Please Login to Remove!

When somebody tries to call me it always goes straight to the answer phone...

Everything else is working fine... email, sms and outgoing calls. I just can't recieve calls and its driving me mad.

I spoke to T-mobile and they said it would take 2-3 weeks to repair... I guess this is something wrong in the settings. Any idea what it could be?

Should I (and can I) reset my phone? or upgrade the OS?

Thanks

*EDIT* oh yeah, I'm on T-mobile UK. OS v 4.2.2.176 and Platform 2.5.0.34

Can you provide more detail about what T-Mobile said? From your post it seems you called and explained the problem and they just said it'll take 2-3 weeks to fix and hung up. That seems a little odd and I get the impression we're missing some details here.

They just seemed to suggest they couldn't determine what the problem was and that I should send it in and there standard time for repairs is 2 - 3 weeks...

Ah okay, repair time for the device itself.

That is strange that you're not able to receive calls. You don't have your phone set up to forward all incoming calls to voicemail do you?

Press the green key to bring up the phone application and then press the Menu key and select Options. Scroll to Call Forwarding and see if the Forward All Calls option is checked.

Another thing you can do to test is to put your SIM card into another phone and test. If the problem follows your SIM card that implies a problem with your account on T-Mobile's end. If the issue stays with your Blackberry then that does seem to indicate something is wrong with the handset.

But check the call forwarding options first.

I just tried again now and it didn't even show up as a missed call... I instead got a sms telling me I had a missed call, like when the phone is turned off.

In call forwarding "forward unanswered calls" is selected. If Busy, If No Reply and If Not Reachable all go to the same number. I assume the answer phone number. So that looks like its all fine...

I'll go and try it in another phone just now... If I can find one in the house thats unlocked...

*EDIT*
I couldn't find an unlocked phone... so I guess I'm going to go into the T-Mobile shop tomorrow and see if they can test the phone/sim for me. They should have a couple near by that will work!

So now I've tried it in another handset and it worked fine... so that means the problem is with my BB :(

Any more ideas? I'm going to try a factory re-set if I can find such a thing...

*EDIT*

So I went into Options -> Security -> General Settings, hit the option key and selected wipe. After that was done the phone is working fine I'm restoring a back-up bit by bit just now. Hoping I don't restore something that breaks it again... lol. That would suck!

Anyway, light at the end of the tunnel! woo

I'm glad you seem to have resolved the issue.
