Hi guys,

I've spent the last hour or so searching for an answer to why since upgrading to v4.5.0.52 I've lost the Maps icon, but I haven't found a resolution that worked for me - so here's my post!!

I've an 8320, on Orange in the UK with a data plan, and previous to upgrading Maps all was working fine.

I've tried the following in various sequences with no luck:
- Deleted and re-installed BB-Maps,
- deleted and resent map service books,
- off and on with battery coming out in the meantime,
- tried different themes as suggested elsewhere.

No BB-MAPS! The "phone" says they're installed, but I dont see an icon to launch.

Any help and advice would be welcome. And apologies if this duplicates other posts - I did a pretty good search before posting.

Have you tried simply un-hiding the hidden icons?

Bring up the icons and then press the Menu key and select Show All.

Thanks - I'm a pretty new user and wasnt aware of that option. It was already set to Show All though.

Ah well, it was worth a shot.

When you did the battery pull did you turn off the device first? If so, try doing the battery pull with the device left on. Then you'll get a good reboot.

I couldnt remember, so just done a Pull while still on...

I'm beginning to wonder if I should try a re-install... doesnt sound like i've got a common problem that others have got around.

It's odd, 'cos I'm not a fiddler and followed the instructions to the T. Another hour of my life gone forever!
