I need some help here. For some reason, Desktop Manager 4.5 reports that it cannot load OS 4.5 (for my Blackberry Curve 8310). Previously, I tried following the steps that mckinneycm (forum moderator) outlined in his sticky post in setting up OS 4.5 on the 8310, and I managed to get it installed fine.
But when I tried installing an OTA download of Blackberry Messenger, I got a message saying that it was not compatible with OS 4.5, so I thought I would reinstall OS 4.5 with Blackberry Messenger checked off as a program to be installed. Boom, I get a 507 error (means no OS is present on the device).
I downloaded the installable version of Jl_Cmdr, and did a total wipe of the 8310 itself, and reset it to factory defaults. I then reinstalled OS 4.5 on my PC, and deleted the vendor.xml file (as per mckinneycm's instructions), and went through the whole shebang again, only to get a message from Desktop Manager 4.5 that a fatal error occurred during installation, followed by the 507 error on my 8310.
Any recommendations as to what to do next? Please help! Thanks.
P.S.: Wait - I was typing this as I was trying to do the whole thing again on my computer, and so far, so good ... Desktop Manager showed that it had loaded all the necessary files, and now it's connecting to the device, with the venerable hourglass rotating nonstop. Hopefully things will be OK ...

I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree with you there. I waited until after I would see the error messages pop up, or saw something that was basically a roadblock to my progress. I followed all applicable instructions and adhered to all messages. Doesn't seem like I didn't wait long enough.
