lock feature question

My husband just got the blackberry Curve 8300. He was wondering if there was a setting you could change so that once you lock the phone the screen doesn't automatically go dark, he would like it to stay lit for a little bit before doing so.

No, there is no way to adjust the screen timeout when the device is locked.
The reasoning, IMO, is that you're not going to be using a locked device...so why leave the light on and use up the battery?
