Ok. So...dilemma!

My roommate sat my phone, facedown in a patch of syrup on the counter. I was able to clean it off the surface of the device, but now my trackball sticks when I try to move it to the right. Is there any way of fixing this WITHOUT disassembling my phone? I tried canned air and wiping the trackball with a damp towel. The damp towel helped for awhile but eventually it went back to stuck again.

I would say no. The syrup is probably on the trackball wheels inside, so cleaning the trackball is only half the problem. Make your roommate buy you a new trackball assembly. It's really easy to replace.

the trackball just pops out. have you taken it out complete? you dont need to remove the housing at all.
