Question No "Input Options" under Language

Please Login to Remove!

Hello board,

I have a new 8320, it had OS 4.2 on it and there was no "Input Options" button under the Language option. I then upgraded the OS to 4.5 hoping to get the "Input Options" but I still don't have it.

I checked the BlackBerry help both on the phone and on the BlackBerry website and they both make reference to this option, but I don't have this option on my 8320.

Can anyone offer some way of getting this fixed?

Thanks

Welcome to the BBForums.

What is it you need from Input Options? If you didn't load additional languages in the OS upgrade, you won't have any options.

I don't think that options is an option on OS 4.5 anyway.

On my old 7100g I was able to use this option to turn on frequency learning, auto word learning and automatic word learning from e-mails. I can't find where on the 8320 to do this.

I want to be able to populate my dictionary with words that I send and receive in e-mails. This will prevent my spell checker from stopping ever so often. I know I can add these manually, but that just don't cut it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You don't need those SureType functions on the 8320... that was all for easing your SureType usage. You don't have SureType on the full QWERTY keyboard BlackBerrys.

AutoText is different and not part of the dictionary. You will need to enter those phrases manaually unless they carried over from the 7100.

Good luck.

Ok I undersyand what you're saying but why is it mentioned in documentation? I have also seen posts where persons with 8320s have said that they were able to get this option. I will look into another of your comments about multiple languages, as I do remember not install any additional languages, I think so I will check that. I have another 8320 that I have not taken out the box yet, will see if that one has the option.

Thanks
