Default switching from 8310 to 8330

So i switched from AT&T's Curve to Verizon's Curve and i am kinda unhappy about the switch. First off i text alot and with my AT&T curve i could text up to 6 pages worth on one text message but with my Verizon i could only do page by page so it gets annoying when typing long messages. Is it me or are the Verizon curves just set up that way?? The net is sometimes faster but not by much. I expected it to be alot quicker being Verizon is on the EV-DO network verse AT&T's EDGE. Anyone have any input to my texting problem?

That is how the VZW SMS network works.

EVDO is faster than EDGE. You might not have noticed a difference yet, but it is.
