Default Curve 8310 SAR

I'm sure this stuff doesn't bother 90% of people here, but I thought to ask anyway...

I have been trying to find out what the SAR of the 8310 Curve is, and I keep getting conflicting answers. I've looked at the Safety Notice that is published by RIM for this model, and it says at the ear it is 1.09(over 1g)/0.59(over 10g), and at the body it is 1.11(over 1g)/0.63(over 10g).

Now I understood the 1g/10g difference to be a reference to the US vs European safety standards so, if I am in the UK and it's a 2.0W/kg measured over 10g max (as opposed to 1.6 over 1g for US), the SAR for this handset would be 0.59 at the ear, and 0.63 for the body, making this actually a relatively low SAR handset (for EU frequencies anyway...).

However, I keep seeing everywhere that the 8310 (as opposed to 8300 or 8320/30) is 1.51 - It's on several EU carrier sites, and on CNET too. I have no idea where this figure came from as it appears to differ from those published by RIM. Am I reading the safety notices incorrectly? Is it actually (if you read them right) 1.51?

Thanks in advance....

Blackberrys do usually have higher SAR ratings. I'm not familiar with the numbers, though.

It's funny as it was the low low SAR of my first blackberry (one of the 72** series) that first got me on to them - the all-in-one communication device that didn't (allegedly) fry your brain......

I know some of them are quite high, but I thought the 8310 Curve was one of the good guys - unless I am reading it all wrong.

Possible. I've never really paid any attention to it. Someone once told me they were higher in SAR ratings but I could be wrong....
