Default Bluetooth keyboard?

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know if the bluetooth keyboards on the market are compatable with the bb? I blog a lot and it would be nice to have a bigger typing keyboard tpo use. Any ideas which one to go with if they work at all?

You're going to pay right around $100 with shipping. I did see a couple on eBay this morning with a day or two left to go, for much cheaper. I actually bought one from Amazon.com this morning for a Senior VP in my company. $95 with shipping.

They work very well and the support from Freedom Input is superb. Don't buy the Shasta keyboard (looks identical) as their support is not too good.

If you're on a BES you'll need help from your BES Admin to install the drivers.

I'm not on bes. Are the drivers hard to install?

$100 is a little more than I wanted to spend, but thanks for the info!

Hi,

I'm the technical manager for Freedom who makes these keyboards. Basically to install the drivers you just go to the OTA website pick which keyboard you have and then download the drivers it gives you.

On the newer (4.2>) BlackBerry's you will need to change the keystroke injection permissions. The instructions for this are laid out step by step in the manual and takes about a minute for the average user to run through.

After that you just pair the keyboard, connect to it through the driver application and from that point onwards all you ever need to do is turn the switch on the keyboard on or off whenever you need it.

With regards to the price we will be putting up a short term BB forum members deal on both our keyboard and GPS unit in the next couple of days so keep an eye out for it.
